Royal Dynasty MRB is a sharp winner of N.M. Breeders Futurity
FARMINGTON — Jorge Luis Sanchez, Jr.’s Royal Dynasty MRB earned the first stakes win of her career, racing to a three-quarters of a length victory in the $238,363 New Mexico Breeders Futurity on Saturday at SunRay Park and Casino.
Ridden by Luis Martinez, the 2-year-old daughter of Running Buddy broke well from the gate, had a clear lead passing the gap and proved much the best, racing 350 yards in a time of 17.18 seconds.
Bred in New Mexico by Mrb Racing LLC, Royal Dynasty MRB was purchased for $4,500 at the 2025 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale. She broke her maiden last March winning a trial for the New Mexican Spring Futurity before finishing off the board in that race on April 4. She was second in her most recent start, behind Big Ted in a trial for the NM Breeders Futurity here on April 24.
Saturday’s win in the NM Breeders Futurity gives Royal Dynasty MRB two wins from four starts and earnings of more than $132,000.
Big Ted, sent off as the prohibitive 1-to-2 favorite was a clear-cut second. Perrys Alibi finished third with Dahlia’s Destiny rounding out the top four finishers.
Royal Dynasty MRB returned $19.80 to her winning backers while sent off as the third choice in the wagering at odds of 8.90-to-1. The $2 exacta with Big Ted paid back $40.
