This form must be submitted to the New Mexico Horse Breeders Association before the broodmare leaves the state of New Mexico.
If this form is completed and returned to NMHBA, no fees are required if the mare is consigned to an advertised sale out of the State of NM. The mare may leave NM seven (7) days prior to the sale and must return to NM no later than seven (7) days after the completion of the sale for the foal she is carrying to maintain eligibility for NM Bred accreditation. You must call or email NMHBA when the mare is returned to NM.
If the Broodmare is not returned to NM, a grace period of ten (10) days will be granted for this form to be submitted and the $500 export fee to be paid for the foal to be eligible for NM Bred status. If the broodmare is a Recipient, the Donor mare must also pay the $500 export fee and submit the Export Broodmare Form if she leaves the state of New Mexico. ALL MARES MUST FOAL IN NEW MEXICO FOR THE FOAL TO MAINTAIN ELIGIBILITY FOR NM BRED ACCREDITATION!
