Per New Mexico State legislation passed, starting June 14, 2019:
- an owner of a NM Bred horse that places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd must be a current member within 90 days of the horse placing in order to receive incentive awards.
- Failure to complete and return a paid membership application by your deadline will result in forfeiting the NM Bred incentive award paid out in November for that race.
An individual, partnership, corporation or any entity attempting to accredit a foal shall be a member in good standing in the New Mexico Horse Breeders Association (NMHBA).
Application for membership shall be obtained through the New Mexico Breeders Association, 4836 Hardware Dr. NE Suite B

For any registration with the New Mexico Horse Breeders Association, your annual membership dues must be paid before registry.
Annual Membership dues are payable January 1st each year. ALL MEMBERSHIPS EXPIRE DECEMBER 31st. Dues paid between January 1st and October 31st will go towards the current years dues. Dues paid November 1st through December 31st go towards the future year’s dues.
