Rogers Farms’ Wascallywittlewabbit (pictured, white cap), a registered New Mexico-bred 7-year-old Heza Motor Scooter gelding trained by Mike Joiner, was voted top distance horse for the Remington Park spring meet, which ended May 28.
Wascallywittlewabbit won both of his starts at Remington Park — the 870-yard, $50,880 Pauls Valley Stakes (G2) on March 31, and the 870-yard, $54,470 Remington Park Distance Championship (G1) on closing night. His earnings during the meet totaled $62,088.
Wascallywittlewabbit was bred by Mike Weatherly, and he is the reigning AQHA champion distance horse. Raced in two states, including New Mexico, he has won 13 of 24 races — including 11 of 14 at the 870-yard distance — and he has earned $344,188.
