One Mark (pictured) and I’magambler are two of the nine New Mexico-bred Thoroughbreds entered in Friday’s 1 1/16-mile, $100,000 Albert & Henry Dominguez Memorial Handicap (R) at Sunland Park.
A homebred 6-year-old son of the Bernardini stallion Marking, One Mark is trained by Todd Fincher for owners Leslie Amestoy, Pierre J. Amestoy Jr., and Roger Beasley. The bay gelding will be stretching out in distance off of his 1 3/4-length victory in the February 9, 6 1/2-furlong Jamison Memorial Handicap (R) at Sunland Park.
One Mark drew post 4 and will be ridden by Tracy Hebert.
I’magambler races for Alfred Alvarado, who claimed the 5-year-old son of the Holy Bull stallion King Bull for $5,000 at Ruidoso Downs on August 4, 2023. Since the claim, the chestnut gelding has won four of his five races, and he is coming off of a clear 6 3/4-length victory in a 1-mile, $52,000 open-condition allowance route for New Mexico-breds on February 18.
I’magambler drew post 5 and will be ridden by Francisco Amparan for trainer Martin Valdez-Cabral Jr.
