Ten state-bred 2-year-olds, led by fastest qualifier BF Shes Outrageous and graded stakes winner Dashin Approach, are entered back in Sunday’s 400-yard, $407,946 New Mexico State Fair Quarter Horse Futurity (RG3) on Sunday, closing day of the Albuquerque Downs summer meet.
BF Shes Outrageous (pictured) is a homebred daughter of Big Daddy Cartel trained by Wes Giles for owner Kevin Birrell. The gray filly has earned $70,297 from six races, and her four wins include a 1 1/4-length victory in the 300-yard, $61,000 Desert Classic Futurity (R) at Turf Paradise on April 30.
BF Shes Outrageous is coming off of a Ruidoso Downs campaign during which the filly qualified to the July 25, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1). The fastest qualifier from seven trials run on August 27, she drew post 5 and will be ridden by Emilio Tapia.
Dashin Approach races for George and Peggy Cobb, who also bred the gelded son of Mr Pyc To You. Trained by Jorge Morales-Flores, Dashin Approach has won three of five outs — including the 350-yard, $113,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3) at SunRay Park on May 23 — and he has banked $65,466.
Dashin Approach drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jaime Parga Leos.
