Wheres Brayden, a gelded son of the Artie Schiller stallion Artful Run owned by R. Dwain Yarbar, will make his sophomore season debut in Sunday’s 6-furlong, $100,000 Corralitos Steak House Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old Thoroughbreds at Sunland Park.
Trained by Greg Green, Wheres Brayden will be shortening in distance off of his wire-to-wire, 2 1/2-length victory in the 1-mile & 70-yard, $100,000 Steve Prather Stakes (R) at Zia Park on December 13. He won two stakes at Zia Park, including the 6-furlong, $100,000 New Mexico Cup Juvenile Championship (R) at Zia Park on October 31.
Wheres Brayden is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the field of 11. He drew post 11 and will be ridden by Enrique Gomez.
Trainer Todd Fincher will send out five contenders, headed by B4 Farms LLC’s Bye Bye Matty P, a bay son of Attila’s Storm. Bye Bye Matty P earned $64,175 from four races, and he began his career with a 2 1/4-length victory in the May 23, 4 1/2-furlong C.O. “Ken” Kendrick Memorial Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.
Bye Bye Matty B drew post 7 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.
