Jaime Aldavaz Sr.’s Eye Am On It is one of a dozen state-bred 2-year-old Quarter Horses entered back in Saturday’s 350-yard, $120,000-added New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG2) at SunRay Park.
A sorrel daughter of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Eye Am King and the fastest qualifier, Eye Am On It made her debut with a two-length victory in the second of five trials on May 5. The filly drew post 2 and will be ridden by Esgar Ramirez for trainer Jaime Aldavaz Jr.
Other contenders include CHR Racing’s Jess Have One More, a gelded son of Jesse James Jr trained by Jesus Rondan Jr. Jess Have One More has won two of three starts and has earned $23,366, and her record includes a fifth-place finish, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner Crispyn, in the April 1, $366,000 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) at Sunland Park.
Jess Have One More drew post 10 and will be ridden by Luis Martinez.
