Just En King (pictured), a multiple graded stakes winning son of Eye Am King racing for Ronald N. Ulibarri, will make his next start in Sunday’s 440-yard, $75,000 First Moonflash Maturity (RG2) for New Mexico-breds at Albuquerque Downs.
Just En King will be stretching out in distance off of his neck victory in the July 20, 400-yard Zia Stakes (RG2) at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding has earned $82,000 from three outs this season, and his two wins include a half-length victory in the May 3, 350-yard Jimmy Drake Stakes (RG3) at SunRay Park.
Just En King drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jacob Enriquez for trainer Omar Vargas. The gelding’s nine opponents include Pick Your Pour, a 4-year-old Jesse James Jr gelding trained by James Gonzales III for owners Orlando Granillo, Azucena Mendoza and Rene Mendoza. Pick Your Pour is coming off of a Ruidoso Downs summer campaign during which he scored a three-length victory in the 400-yard, $50,000 Jess Burner Stakes (R) on June 2.
Pick Your Pour drew the rail post and will be ridden by Ali Rivera.
