Derrick W. Jenkins’ Corrina Corrina (pictured), a homebred multiple stakes winning 5-year-old daughter of Mr. Trieste, drew the rail post for Sunday’s 6 1/2-furlong, $85,000 Carlos Salazar Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares at Albuquerque Downs.

Corrina Corrina has earned $957,560 from 29 races, and her second consecutive win in the Carlos Salazar would net the dark bay or brown mare $51,000 and put her over the million-dollar mark in career earnings. Corrina Corrina has won 14 races, including 10 stakes.

Corrina Corrina will be ridden by Tracy Hebert for trainer Gary Cross.

First Again, a homebred 4-year-old Axiomatic filly trained by Danny Morales for owner Larry E. Young, has won her last two outs, including the 5-furlong, $50,000 Lincoln Stakes (R) at Albuquerque Downs on July 28. First Again drew post 2 and will be ridden by Daniel Vergara.
