Dashin Approach, a homebred son of Mr PYC To You owned by George and Peggy Cobb and the fastest qualifier, drew post 10 for Sunday’s 350-yard, $60,000-added New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3) for state-bred 2-year-old Quarter Horses at SunRay Park.
Dashin Approach broke his maiden with a clear 2 1/4-length victory in the second of four trials on May 7. The gelding has earned $7,608 from three races in New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Jaime Parga Leos will ride Dashin Approach for trainer Arturo Chavez. Other contenders include Rocasolida Esperance, a bay daughter of Rock Solid Jess trained by Brad Bolen for owners Donald Cabrera and Linda Weiss. Rocasolida Esperance has won both of her outs, including her New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity trial, and she has banked $10,500.
Rocasolida Esperance drew posts 3 and will be ridden by Joel Leyva.
