Kevin Birrell’s BF Shes Outrageous (pictured), a homebred daughter of Big Daddy Cartel trained yb Wes Giles, is the fastest qualifier to the September 19, $350,000-est. New Mexico State Fair Quarter Horse Futurity (RG3).

Racing in the third of seven 400-yard trials on Saturday, BF Shes Outrageous defeated fifth-fastest qualifier Miriam La Rebelde by three-quarters of a length in :19.648. Emilio Tapia rode the gray filly.

BF Shes Outrageous was coming off of a Ruidoso Downs summer campaign during which she won two of three races and qualified to the 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) on July 25. All told, the filly has won four of six starts — including the April 28, $61,000 Desert Classic Futurity (R) at Turf Paradise — and she has earned $70,297.

BF Shes Outrageous is out of BF Outrageous, a homebred Proudest Effort mare who won the 2003 Diamond Classic Derby (R) at Wyoming Downs.

Long Pour set the second-fastest qualifying time with a three-quarter length win in the fourth heat. Prepped by James Gonzales II for owner Taft Farms LLC, the sorrel daughter of Big Daddy Cartel covered 400 yards in :19.754 while scoring her third win in four races. Mario Delgado rode the filly.

Long Pour was bred by Mac and Janis Murray’s MJ Farms at Veguita, New Mexico, and she is out of White Wine Glass, a winning homebred daughter of the Swiss Yodeler (TB) stallion Swissle Stick (TB) and a half sister to 2015 AQHA champion 3-year-old filly Astica. Long Pour’s second dam, the First Down Dash mare Alice K White, was the sport’s champion sophomore filly in ’09.

Raced exclusively in New Mexico, Long Pour has banked $27,910, and she was a finalist in the August 1, 400-yard Zia Futurity (RG1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Third-fastest qualifier Dashin Approach won the first trial by a clear 1 3/4 lengths in :19.760. Jaime Parga Leos rode the homebred Mr Pyc To You colt for owners George and Peggy Cobb and trainer Jorge Morales-Flores.

Dashin Approach has earned $65,466 from five outs, and his three wins include a three-quarter length victory in the 350-yard, $113,060 New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3) at SunRay Park on May 23. The colt is out of Panther Not A Kitty, an unraced homebred Panther Mountain mare.
