Cat Daddys Lil Girl (pictured), a homebred gray daughter of Big Daddy Cartel owned by Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez, will make her 6-year-old season debut in Saturday’s 400-yard, $100,000 Lou Wooten/Sydney Valentini Stakes (RG2) at Sunland Park.

Cat Daddys Lil Girl will be shortening in distance off of her eighth-place finish, 2 1/4 lengths behind winner Apollitical Pence, in the December 11, $600,000 Champion of Champions (G1) at Los Alamitos. The mare is coming off of a 5-year-old season during which she won two open stakes during the Remington Park spring meet, including the May 29, $128,000 Junos Request Stakes (G1).

Cat Daddys Lil Girl drew post 5 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. for trainer Wes Giles.

Other contenders include Mike G. Parker’s Chicky Chicky Kai, a graded stakes winning 4-year-old Jess A Chicks mare trained by Larry Chavez. Chicky Chicky Kai ended her sophomore campaign with a neck victory as the 9-5 favorite in the December 5, $100,000 New Mexico Filly & Mare Championship (RG1) at Zia Park.
