Eleven New Mexico-bred 3-year-old Thoroughbred fillies, topped by morning-line favorite Two Stepper (pictured), are entered in Sunday’s 1-mile, $100,000 Enchantress Stakes (R) at Sunland Park.
Two Stepper is a homebred daughter of Attila’s Storm trained by Todd Fincher for owners R.D. Hubbard and Paul Blanchard. The bay filly will be stretching out in distance off of her 1 1/4-length victory at odds of nearly 16-1 in the 6-furlong, $100,000 La Senora Stakes (R) on January 18.
Two Stepper drew post 4 and will be ridden by Roimes Chirinos.
Other contenders include Count Them Again, a multiple stakes winning daughter of Premeditation racing for Lola L. Cuellar and Alexandria M. Cuellar. Count Them Again has earned $159,780 from five outs, and her four wins include a neck victory in last year’s 6-furlong, $50,000 Manzano Stakes at Albuquerque Downs, and a 2 1/4-length score in the 6-furlong, $145,000 New Mexico Cup Lassie Stakes (R) at Zia Park.
Count Them Again drew post 6 and will be ridden by Alejandro Medellin for trainer J. Jaime Fuentes.
