Seven New Mexico-bred 2-year-olds, three of whom will be making their career debuts, are entered in Sunday’s 4 1/2-furlong, $100,000 C.O. “Ken” Kendrick Memorial Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.

Better Believe, a homebred daughter of Marking owned by R. Lee Lewis and Brad King, is the lone winner in the field, as the bay filly made her debut with a one-length victory in a 4 1/2-furlong, $31,000 maiden-special-weight race for state-bred 2-year-olds at Sunland Park on April 2. A full sister to 2021 Mountain Top Futurity (R) winner Marked, the filly drew post 3 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.

Villalobos Racing’s Tatas Joe Mark, a Marking gelding trained by Manuel Villalobos, is coming off of a fourth-place finish, 2 1/4 lengths behind Better Believe, in that April 2 maiden-special-weight race at Sunland Park. Tatas Joe Mark is one of four starters produced by One Taste, a winning Taste Of Paradise mare and a half sister to stakes winners More Accord and Cherry One.

Tatas Joe Mark drew post 4 and will be ridden by Aldo Arboleda.
