Jimmy Vasquez’s EBW Dancnthemoonlite and Oscar Diaz’s Brookes Legacy (pictured) will make their season debuts in Sunday’s 400-yard, $100,000 Lou Wooten/Sydney Valentini Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred distaffers at Sunland Park.
A 5-year-old daughter of champion First Moonflash trained by David Gomez-Barraza, EBW Dancnthemoonlite will be stretching out in distance off his victory in the December 17, 350-yard New Mexico Classics Distaff Stakes (R) at Zia Park. The mare drew post 8 and will be ridden by Luis Martinez.
Brookes Legacy is a 5-year-old Big Daddy Cartel mare trained by Armando Alamos. Brookes Legacy is coming off of a Zia Park fall campaign during which she ran second in two stakes, including the 400-yard, $200,000 New Mexico Filly and Mare Championship (RG1) on November 26.
Brookes Legacy drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jacob Enriquez.
