Mark The Winner, a stakes-winning daughter of the Bernardini stallion Marking, drew post 4 for Thursday’s 6-furlong, $100,000 La Senora Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old fillies at Sunland Park.

Trained by Simon Buechler for owners Rodney Brooks and Donnie Reid, Mark The Winner has won four of five races and has earned $160,229, and she ended her juvenile season with a neck victory as the odds-on favorite in the November 27, 6-furlong New Mexico Classics Lassie Championship (R) at Zia Park. The filly is one of two winners from as many starters produced by Unofficial Winner, a winning and stakes-placed Attila’s Storm mare.

Mark The Winner will be ridden by Luis A. Fuentes.

Mark It Down (pictured), a stakes-winning homebred Marking filly trained by Dallas Barton for owners Mike H. Carson and Bill Carson, will also be making her season debut in the La Senora. Mark It Down is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign where she banked $101,273 from seven races and scored a 1 1/4-length win in the August 6, $113,000 Rio Grande Senorita Futurity (R) at Ruidoso Downs.

Mark It Down drew the rail post and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.
