Run Time, a homebred stakes-placed daughter of Big Daddy Cartel racing for Ezra Lee, is the 4-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 350-yard, $100,000 Sunburst Stakes (RG3) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old fillies at Sunland Park.
Run Time made her season debut with a half-length victory in a 400-yard Shue Fly Stakes (RG2) trial on January 7. The bay filly has earned $33,541 from seven races, and her record includes a second-place finish, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner BF Shes Outrageous, in last year’s 300-yard, $61,000 Desert Classic Futurity (R) at Turf Paradise.
Run Time drew post 3 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos for trainer Wes Giles.
Trainer Eric Valenzuela will send out Daddys Mony, a multiple stakes placed Big Daddy Cartel filly owned by Julie A. Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez. A $34,500 yearling purchase at the 2020 Daddys Mony has banked $71,354 from nine outs, and her resume includes a third-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Flashin Fire, in last year’s 400-yard, $320,000 Zia Futurity (RG1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Daddys Mony is coming off of a 1 1/2-length victory as the 2-1 favorite in a 330-yard, $32,000 non-winners-of-two allowance dash on February 19. The filly drew post 9 and will be ridden by Luis A. Flores-Garcia.
